How To: Transfer using a cloud storage location

SUMMARY

You want to transfer your data to a new PC, but you don’t have any wired options available to you, or your target PC is not available locally.

SOLUTION

We’re going to use File-Based to migrate all of your data onto a single file that would then be uploaded to the cloud and then brought back to your target PC.

IMPORTANT: Note: this is only if your PC or Cloud Subscription is large enough to fit the transfer file we create here. Keep in mind you can create multiple transfer files to stage your migration into smaller chunks.

1. Create your PCmover Transfer File. You can learn how to do that here!

2. Open your Cloud Storage provider. In this Demo, we’re going to use OneDrive since you get a Terabyte of Storage with Office 365!

3. Click and drag your PCV (PCmover Transfer file) into your browser to upload your file

4. Once you’ve uploaded it, go on your other PC and download the file!

5. Then open PCmover, Choose Advanced Options, Click File-Based, Select “New PC” then navigate to the PCV file you just downloaded!
