How do I find the IP Address of my computer?

For computers running Windows XP, Vista, 7, 8, or 10:

    1. From the Windows Start menu, click Run. (In Vista and higher, just do step 2 in the search field.)
    2. In the Open box, type CMD and press Enter.
    3. At the DOS prompt, type IPCONFIG /ALL and press Enter.
  1. The IP information for all adapters will be displayed. Locate the appropriate network adapter and record the IP address.
Hint: The network adapter you are looking for depends on the type of connection. For example, broadband Internet access is usually obtained through an Ethernet adapter.

You will end up with a screen as below. Your IP address is the one located next to “IPv4 Address:”
